BMO Family Office
Yale Kofman is a Director of Investment Advisory Services with BMO Family Office, an integrated wealth management provider that serves ultra-affluent individuals, families and family offices across their tax, estate, investment, philanthropic, risk and family capital needs.
He is responsible for implementing be spoke investment, tax and philanthropic strategies which help clients to enhance multi-generational asset transfer and to enable their wealth to promote their values. Yale combines his experience in a family business, institutional portfolio management and passion for impact investing, working primarily with business owners, entrepreneurs and corporate executives.
He brings to BMO Family Office almost 30 years of experience in asset allocation, alternatives, ESG investing, client relationship management and C-suite strategy. Prior to joining BMO, Yale spent 6 years in senior client-facing roles at BNY Mellon Wealth Management in San Francisco. He was also a founding member of their Responsible Investing Council and a member of the Equity Committee. Other notable roles included Chief Administrative Officer at First Republic Private Wealth Management and Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Charles Schwab Investment Management where additional responsibilities included delivering economic and market outlook on a national level.
Yale received a JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a B.A. from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. He is on the board and executive committees of two non-profit organizations in the Bay Area: Clause House and the Japan Society of Northern California. Yale met his wife when he was working in Tokyo and is conversant in Japanese. They have two boys and live in San Mateo. In his off-time, Yale’s interests include cycling, running, tennis, Springsteen and classic film noir.
