BMO Family Office and Head of Investments, Wealth

Michael Miranda is the President of BMO Family Office and the Head of Investments for BMO Wealth Management – U.S.  In this role, Michael leads BMO Family Office, the 140+ employee group within BMO serving ultra-affluent clients to fulfill the full spectrum of investment and wealth management needs.  Michael also oversees the investment management business for BMO Wealth Management – U.S.  As head of the Investment management team, Michael chairs the Personal Asset Management Committee, is a member of our Asset Allocation Committee, and is responsible for setting investment policy and strategy throughout the United States.  Michael is also a member of the Wealth Management Executive Committee.

 

Michael joined BMO in 2018 and brings over 25 years of experience running wealth and asset management businesses, teams and portfolios to our organization.  He joined BMO as Regional Chief Investment Officer for BMO Family Office, where he oversaw a team of 30+ investment professionals and managed complex, multi-generational portfolios for ultra-affluent families. He was later promoted to Head of Investments for BMO Wealth Management – U.S. 

 

Prior to joining our firm, Michael served as Chief Investment Officer and Business Head at Mesirow Financial, where he ran the Currency Management group, guiding its strategic direction and growth while overseeing the investment team.  Previously, he had served as Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing multi-billion dollar fixed income portfolios at Calamos Investments and Northern Trust.

 

Michael graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in both economics and music performance.  He earned his MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  He is active in the Chicago community, most recently serving as a Daniel Burnham Fellow through Leadership Greater Chicago.  He serves on the Board of the Ravinia Festival.  Michael is also a member of the Alumni Society, a private network of Latino leaders serving in executive roles.
