As Chief Investment Officer, Dan is responsible for setting U.S. Wealth Management asset allocation policy and communicating the firm’s strategic and tactical market outlook through investment commentary and presentations. Dan chairs the U.S. Asset Allocation Committee and is a member of the Personal Asset Management Committee, which oversees all aspects of the investment management business for U.S. Wealth Management.
Prior to BMO, Dan spent most of his career at Northern Trust, ultimately serving as Director of Asset Allocation Strategy – where he was lead portfolio manager for Northern Trust multi-asset strategies and was responsible for producing the firm’s capital market assumptions; constructing strategic portfolios; formulating tactical positioning; and communicating Northern Trust views to clients and prospects. He also spent time as Chief Investment Officer for SMArtX Advisory Solutions – a separately managed account technology platform.
Dan graduated from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Finance and Economics and earned his MBA – with concentrations in Finance, Economics and International Business – from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a CFA Charterholder.
