James Futrell

James Futrell is a Managing Director and Head of Investments with BMO Family Office, an integrated wealth management provider that serves ultra-affluent individuals, families and family offices across their tax, estate, investment, philanthropic, risk and family capital needs.

James is a member of the Executive Leadership team for BMO Family Office and is the Head of the Investment Advisory Services group. He joined BMO Family Office in 2011 and has more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. He works closely with some of our largest and most complex client relationships.

James manages the investment business and teams that provide sophisticated investment advice and solutions to our clients. The group is responsible for the development and implementation of investment policies, recommendations for asset allocations and the evaluation and selection of investment managers. James is also the Chair of the Investment Committee for BMO Family Office, a member of the Digital Asset Committee, and sits on various investment leadership groups.

James earned his BA in Business and Economics from Wheaton College and went on to earn his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA^®) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA^®).

James lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife and identical twin daughters. Outside of the office, he is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
