Garb Mechigian is Managing Director with BMO Family Office. He joined BMO in 1994 and has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Garb is principally responsible for pursuing strategies to grow the entire enterprise. Garb also is involved directly in the development and implementation of long-term investment policies, analysis of client portfolios, recommendations of appropriate portfolio allocations and the evaluation and selection of investment managers. Garb serves as a member of the BMO Family Office Operating, Management, Marketing and Sales, and Investment Advisory and Fiduciary Services Committees.
Garb served as Chairman and CEO with CTC Consulting, LLC from 2006 to 2012, when CTC merged with Harris myCFO. Prior to that, Garb was Division Manager and Director of Product Development at The Laughlin Group of Companies, an organization that assists financial institutions with the due diligence and distribution of investment-related products. Garb’s career in investments began in 1986 when he started as a research editor for Lipper Analytical Services, a mutual fund research and analysis firm.
Garb is a recognized leader in the investment industry, frequently attending national conferences where he speaks on manager research, asset allocation and investments related issues for private clients. Garb is a member of the Investment Management Consultant Association (IMCA).
He is a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, earned a BS in statistics from the University of Michigan, and attended the Graduate School of Business at the University of Colorado.
